For 2019, we, the organizers of the 7WZYC, humbly request your to help and support for this vision by becoming a sponsor for our Congress, because the success of our Congress and our youth is contingent upon the gracious contributions of community leaders such as yourself who enable our youth to be the leaders of tomorrow. Your sponsored funds will be allocated towards the costs of accommodation, food, transport, and entertainment. It will also assist us by adding to the quality of our program, speakers, and materials, whilst keeping costs affordable so that more youth can partake in it.

With this letter we are including the sponsorship packages for your very kind perusal. Your participation and generous donation will further motivate our youth, who have taken on this challenging task to work harder at achieving our desired goals. We stand as the future generation and hope to grow together as we learn from one another. By giving us your support you do not just help us grow; you help us succeed.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or queries about sponsoring the Congress and thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Congress Overview

What is the World Zoroastrian Youth Congress?

The World Zoroastrian Youth Congress (WYZC) is a body that has been formed to nurture a better understanding of the religion amongst the Zoroastrian youth worldwide, whilst also creating a platform for friendships to bloom. The WZYC is held once every four years by a host country and its Zoroastrian Association. In 2019, the 7th WZYC will take place at The Pacific Palms Hotel in City of Industry at the Los Angeles County, California. It will be organized by the youth of California Zoroastrian Center (CZC). The age group for the attendees will be from 18-35 years.

Who are Zoroastrians and where did Zoroastrianism originate?

Zoroastrianism is an ancient religion founded some time before the 6th century BCE in Persia or Greater Iran. Followers of the religion are known as Zoroastrians and our profit is Zarathustra (the founder of Zoroastrianism). The history of the faith spans its rise and decline through the centuries and is marked by a series of empires which culminate in tumultuous persecutions. Like Judaism, the resulting diaspora of Zoroastrians today comprises of pockets of concentrated populations scattered around the globe in countries like the United States, Canada, Iran, India, Great Britain and Australia.  Despite a shrinking population, the faith is progressive in its teachings and basic tenets which preach good thoughts, good words and good deeds. The future of the religion, however, necessitates change and evolution if it is to survive and the onus today is on the youth to ensure its posterity.

Who is the CZC?

CZC, or California Zoroastrian Center, is a non-profit organization for the welfare of the Zoroastrian community in California, United State of America and the broader community overseas. Its primary objective has been to preserve the cultural and religious identity of Zoroastrians in USA. Over the years they have successfully organized a wide range of events which include Navroze functions, sports competitions, hosting guest speakers and producing various plays. The youth have also been brought together by the Christmas parties, prayer classes and holiday events.

Who is FEZANA?

Founded in 1987, Federation of Zoroastrian Association of North America serves as the coordinating body for 26 Zoroastrian member associations and 14 corresponding groups throughout the United States and Canada. FEZANA promotes the study, understanding and practice of the Zoroastrian faith in North America.

FEZANA represents the interests of its member associations, and carries out philanthropic and charitable activities worldwide. FEZANA Journal, FEZANA’s publication of record, circulates to Zoroastrian households in more than 22 countries, as well as to scholars, academicians and religious organizations worldwide.

What is our aim for the Congress?

The Congress and YCZC will play host to Zoroastrian Youth from across the world in what will shape our future as global Zoroastrians. The youth will come together to experience a Congress intended to educate them about our cherished history and culture, engage them in deeper conversations about the challenges facing our religious community, and motivate them to take action in defining our future as a strong global community.
